Looking for the best ice hockey skates on the market today, but you don’t want to drop $500 or more on a pair only to find out the skates are great for the pros, but not so great for the travel player? These four hockey skates have been chosen by the team at Waffle Mouse as the four best ice hockey skates on the market today:

Bauer Supreme One95

The Bauer Supreme One95’s are one of the best skates to wear on the ice. First, the look, they have gone back to the great traditional black look with a couple of tweaks. They feels great on you feet and are very form fitting. The skate actually feels lighter than the One90’s. Even with it’s hard outer shell (for protection) it is VERY comfortable. You can wear them pretty much right out of the box and it almost feel like you have been wearing them for years.

Bauer Vapor x:60

Another great Bauer skate, the Bauer Vapor x:60’s have a “cooler look” than the One 95’s but are a little heavier. The artwork on the skate is sublimated into the material. The material on the outside of the skate is the same as the Vapor 40’s. The foot bed is one of the better features on the stake. They have applied a grip-like material around the outside of the heel pad and under the toes. There is also a comfort pad on the heel of the foot bed. The inside of the skate is coated with a dry-fit-like material (to make it more comfortable. With the x:60’s you get a lot more response with the ice.

Easton Stealth s17

The Easton Stealth s17’s have a very sleek, silver design. The designs are glued on and not very durable but still work for a long time. They are one of the lightest skates out there, and are very form-fitting. Some people say it feels like there is nothing on your feet. Easton has made something called the “Stealth Padlock”; it locks the heel in place to avoid injury and blisters.

Reebok 9k pump

The Reebok 9k pumps are one of the best skates on the market. To start, the look is a great feature, the RBK symbol is drawn on in dark grey and the background is black. There is an outer leathery-plastic material, to protect your heel and keep the laces on, in which you have a choice of black or white. Also, who does not like the green pump? On the inside of the tongue, there is a wet suit-like material to keep out water. Moving down, there is a Drylex material lining the inside of the boot, it helps keep moisture out, which in turn keep the skate fresher for longer. They have embedded the “Griptonite” material on the heel of the foot bed, the same material used on the outside of RBK’s grip sticks. The final and best feature is that it is very, very light. They have cut almost a third of the weight off from the previous skate. This is by far the top RBK skate.

…

To ensure your new skates fit correctly, use this great hockey skate sizing chart we found online.
